Note:  Although HFOT offers a flexible work schedule, this position requires work in the Taunton, MA office location two or more days per week.

Position Summary:  
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for enhancing HFOT’s public relations efforts by managing and executing external outreach through media relations, event promotion, and social media content. Additionally, the Marketing Coordinator provides administrative support to the Marketing team to ensure effective operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing media plans both nationwide and at the local level to promote HFOT projects in the community.  This includes but is not limited to:  print advertising, digital advertising, editorial content in local publications, etc.
  • Drafts and distributes weekly press releases for HFOT Veteran build events via media software, email, and phone.
  • Works with media outlets to promote events and develop story ideas highlighting the organization’s mission. Coordinates interviews, podcasts, radio spots, and print features for leadership and Veterans.
  • Manages and creates social media content, ensuring consistent monitoring and optimization across all platforms. Develops and executes social media campaigns aimed at enhancing brand visibility, engaging our audience, and driving traffic to our digital channels. Collaborates with other departments to establish a comprehensive and effective social media strategy.
  • Seeks and leverages organic advertising opportunities on local and national levels.
  • Assists in collating marketing materials as needed.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing team and other departments, assists in creating and managing marketing communications campaigns focused on national outreach in support of HFOT’s revenue generation strategy.
  • Assists Senior Marketing Associate in coordinating trade shows by identifying, assembling, and organizing requirements; establishes contacts; develops schedules and assignments.
  • Assists in coordinating other special events as needed.
  • Creates and/or maintains SOPs, checklists, and other documentation for clear communication and optimized processes. Performs administrative duties for the Marketing Department.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising or a related field.
  • Strong writing, organizational, research, and oral communication skills required.
  • 1-3 years of experience using social networking sites, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, to convey marketing messages.  Must demonstrate a solid understanding of the current trends and functions of each platform.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and strong ability to multi-task required.
  • Project management experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Ability to generate content consistent with the HFOT mission and terminology.
  • Creative and innovative thinker.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills who is comfortable speaking with donors, supporters, and the public.
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other related programs required.
  • Works well with diverse groups.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience coordinating events.
  • 1 to 3 years of PR experience.
Working conditions and physical effort:
  • Work is generally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Employees will constantly have close visual contact with a computer.
  • Approximately 10% travel required– this may include occasional overnight or weekend travel.
